The queen of Dancehall, Spice made a significant impact with the launch of her highly-anticipated album, ‘Mirror 25‘. Held at 23, owned by J. Wray & Nephew Limited, the event was a vibrant celebration, drawing members of the dancehall community, media, and supporters. The highlight was a ‘Storytime with Spice’ segment, where she honored key industry influencers like Bounty Killer, Baby Cham, Dave Kelly, Heavy D, Sean Paul, Shaggy and Professor Nuts among others.
“I want to say thanks for the recognition because it’s not all the time you do good, you get recognised and it means a lot to me. I never do it for a token but when someone remembers the good you’ve done, it is glorious. [Spice] is gracious, graceful and grateful. Today we celebrate 25 years of her reign, she never fell off her game,” Legendary Bounty Killer remarked.
Brandon Wallace, Magnum Brand Manager, described the launch as a “serendipitous yet welcomed occasion” noting that while the brand’s strategy has evolved over the years, it continues to find innovative ways to incorporate dancehall talent in their work.
Wallace also expressed his admiration for Spice, saying, “Spice is truly honouring her career at this point, and much of that success is due to the support she’s received along the way. As Bounty Killer said, she is ‘graciously Grace’, and it’s wonderful to see her show respect to those who have helped her flourish over the years. It’s something you don’t see often, and I’m incredibly proud of her for that and that Magnum could witness this moment. With the album now officially launched, Spice continues to solidify her status as a trailblazer in the dancehall genre.”
