Spice marks 25 years of dancehall dominance with spectacular ‘Mirror 25’ album Launch; Bounty Killer praises Her unbroken reign: “She never fell off her game”
The queen of Dancehall, Spice made a significant impact with the launch of her highly-anticipated album, ‘Mirror 25‘. Held at 23, owned by J. Wray & Nephew Limited, the event was a vibrant celebration, drawing members of the dancehall community, media, and supporters. The highlight was a ‘Storytime with Spice’ segment, where she honored key industry influencers like Bounty Killer, Baby Cham, Dave Kelly, Heavy D, Sean Paul, Shaggy and Professor Nuts among others.
Upon receiving his award, Dancehall’s Warlord Bounty Killer reflected on the night he first met Spice, noting that he had no intentions of engaging any young and upcoming artistes, but described their meeting as fate. “You blew us out of the sky…I think I told you, you were going to be a dancehall queen and God is surely working gracefully on you ‘graciously Gracie’,” he said to Spice.
“I want to say thanks for the recognition because it’s not all the time you do good, you get recognised and it means a lot to me. I never do it for a token but when someone remembers the good you’ve done, it is glorious. [Spice] is gracious, graceful and grateful. Today we celebrate 25 years of her reign, she never fell off her game,” Legendary Bounty Killer remarked.
Spice shared heartfelt moments throughout the evening, candidly discussing the production process and inspirations behind her album Mirror 25, while reflecting on media milestones. She surprised media houses with commemorative plaques, recognizing their support. The night became even more special when Magnum Tonic Wine, also celebrating 25 years, honored Spice with a silver jubilee plaque, highlighting her contributions to dancehall and Magnum’s dedication to the genre.
